We’re The Shields Family from Collierville, Tennessee, and we’re proud to welcome you to Coastal Retreat at Tropic Like It’s Hot—our beach home in Gulf Place, 30A.
In May of 2026, we purchased this home after years of visiting the Emerald Coast and falling in love with the 30A lifestyle. What stood out most wasn’t just the beaches, but how easy life feels here. At Tropic Like It’s Hot, you can walk or bike to restaurants, coffee shops, live music, and the beach, all while still enjoying a quiet, family-friendly community.
For our family, Coastal Retreat is more than a vacation rental business—it’s a place we plan to spend more time ourselves in the years ahead as life allows.
